Banjole, a coastal settlement, is situated between the coves of Soline and Paltana (or Banjole Cove). The highly-indented shoreline, covered in pine forests, abounds in historical locations from all eras. The economy rests on tourism, fishing, shellfish farming and construction of small sea craft. Banjole’s natives have always been tied to the sea and fishing. This is why even today the finest fish restaurants can be found here. A well-known personality born in Banjole was Croatian film and theatre actress Marija Crnobori.
