Vinkuran is a community above the sheltered Soline Cove. From Antiquity to the present day, it has been renowned for the Cavae Romanae quarry, where high-quality Istrian limestone is extracted. Vinkuran, under the name Vencoral, was first mentioned in the Pula Statute of 1424. Today Vinkuran with its quarry is the centre of a sculpture colony.
